After a seemingly final showdown with the Decepticons, the long-lost Decepticon Shockwave arrived at the last minute and reversed the Autobot’s near victory with a powerful, single blast. Bumblebee, together with the others, were held captive aboard the Ark, until one of them finally freed the Ark from Decepticon control, and managed to repair the damage they’d sustained.

Since Buster had been given the task of safeguarding the Creation Matrix which saved all of them, (and which, unfortunately, the Decepticons discovered), Bluestreak and Bumblebee were immediately sent to protect him. Buster however, was attacked by the Decepticons’ newly-built, yet still lifeless, Jetfire.

The two Autobots did their best to defend the teen, but ultimately, it was the teen’s clever use of the powers of the Creation Maxtrix to disassemble Jetfire in mid-air, which saved them all from further disaster.

Bumblebee then proceeded to remove Jetfire’s brain, so Buster could reassemble and control the body by remote with his mind.

The Creation Matrix was safely returned to a restored Optimus Prime, although he was still a tad disconnected from his ordeal.

When the Decepticon’s crafty spy Ravage was briefly seized by the Autobots, only for him to escape again, Bumblebee noticed how much this incident troubled his already upset leader. So he took it upon himself to hunt down the fleeing spy and capture him once more.

Unfortunately, the roles were reversed, as Bumblebee was detected by Soundwave’s Decepticons and immediately captured.

To show the Autobots they meant business, Soundwave ordered Laserbeak to deliver Bumblebee’s severed arm to the Ark. This was also done to lure Optimus Prime out into the open, as Soundwave had learned from Ravage, how low his self-confidence was, at this moment.

This move however, only succeeded in making Prime angry, and he single-handedly stormed his way through the entire Decepticon army, rescuing Bumblebee and fully restoring his shattered confidence in the process.
